BERNIE BEAUDRY
Audio and Sound

“Every shoot brings something new.  New stories to tell and
new people to meet.  It never gets old.”

I've enjoyed working with audio since 1977.  My career began at Sound 80 recording studios as an assistant where Prince recorded his Warner Brother's demo, and the hit Funky Town was produced.  Eventually, I moved into audio for video and film as a freelance location sound mixer.  That experience led me to a staff job at Twin Cities PBS that lasted for over 20 years.  In that time I worked on many documentaries and other shows as a location recordist, post-production mixer, and live show mixer.  I won two regional Emmy Awards for documentaries I recorded and mixed and was part of the crew that won a national Emmy for Newton's Apple, a long-running children's science show on PBS.

For the past 15 years, I've been in the freelance realm with a wide variety of clients and experiences.  These include local and national news, college and professional sports broadcasts as an A2, DIY Network and HGTV series, and many corporate clients.

Working with SPOKE is like coming home to family!  I had the pleasure of working with Matt, Linda, and Sarah on 12 seasons of Bath Crashers.  Any time I get to see them again is a good day!

The recording studio closed down and the owner introduced me to a producer/owner of a production company.  He and his regular sound person took me under their wing and mentored me until I gained enough experience to go out on my own.  I studied radio and television production in college so it wasn't an unfamiliar scenario, but the real-world experience was life-changing.

Favorite behind the scenes/onset moment: Blowing up a toilet on Bath Crashers!
